Private photo sharing
Private baby photo sharing, for family only
The family photo feed, without the public internet. Keep your baby's photos in one private place, and share them only with the people you choose.
The problem
Why parents are moving baby photos off social media
It usually starts with the best intentions. A few newborn photos go up on Instagram, a dozen more land in the group chat, and the rest sit in your camera roll. Six months later the pictures are scattered across four apps, quietly compressed until they are soft, and, on a public profile, visible to people you have never met.
Social platforms are built to be seen widely and to learn from what you post. That is the opposite of what most of us want for a photo of our child in the bath. Our Pear Tree is a private home instead: one timeline, invite only, with no public feed and no strangers. If you are weighing your options, our FamilyAlbum comparison lays out the differences plainly.
How it works
Two simple ways to let family in
You can invite the people you trust as members, so they can react and comment on the moments. Or, for the relatives who do not want another login, you can send a private link that opens in any web browser, no account required. Either way, you decide who sees what, and you can take it back.
- Invite family as members to react and comment, or send a link that needs no account
- Private links open in any browser, on any phone, tablet, or computer
- Revoke a link at any time, and it stops working immediately
- Unlimited viewers, free on every plan
- Shared photos are served without their location data
Not a group chat
A story in order, not a pile of messages
A group chat buries a photo the second the next message arrives. A public feed shows it once and scrolls on. Our Pear Tree does the opposite: every photo you add lands on a timeline in the order it really happened, dated for you, so the story reads from start to finish. When family opens your link, they are not scrolling a random heap. They are following along from the first bump photo to this morning, with an age on every memory so they always know how little your little one was.
A caption or a note stays attached to its photo for good, not lost three hundred messages up. So the far-away aunt who checks in once a month still sees everything in order, and the grandparent who visits every picture can watch the whole year unfold. That ordering is automatic, handled by the baby age tracker, which reads each photo's own date and files it on the right day.
Private by default
What stays private, without you finding a setting
Private is the default here, not a switch you have to hunt for. There is no public profile to search, nobody can stumble onto your child, and we never show ads, sell your data, or use anything you add to train a model. For the most personal moments, there is an end-to-end encrypted vault that only you can open, and its contents never appear in a shared link.
When you are ready to move your existing pictures over, import keeps each photo's original date so your history lands in order instead of all on today. For the grandparents in particular, see photo sharing for grandparents. You can also take the full tour of everything Our Pear Tree does, or compare plans and pricing whenever you like.
Questions
What parents ask about sharing
Is it really private?
Yes. There is no public feed and no profile anyone can search, so a stranger cannot find your child. Only the people you invite, or give a private link to, can see anything, and we never run ads, sell your data, or use your photos to train a model.
Do relatives need to download an app?
No. You can invite them as members if they want to react and comment, but the simplest way is a private link that opens in any web browser, with no account and no app to install. See sharing for grandparents.
Can I turn a share link off later?
Yes. A share link is yours to revoke at any time, and it stops working the moment you do. You stay in control of who can see your family, always.
Will it compress or shrink my photos?
Your originals are kept at full resolution and you can export them at full quality any time. Share links load a display-sized copy so pages open fast for family, and never carry your location. The free plan holds 15 GB of full-quality photos, about 30,000; Family keeps full-quality originals up to 500 GB. See the plans.
What does private sharing cost?
Sharing is free on every plan, and there is no limit on how many people you invite. The app itself is free to start, with a paid Family plan only if you want HD video and more full-quality storage.
Share the moments, not with the whole world.
Start free, invite the people you love, and keep the rest out.
