Move photos from Tinybeans without starting the family story over.
Save a copy you control, make a small date-checked import, and let the timeline rebuild around the days the photos were really taken.
Before you begin
Keep the originals, then make a copy.
If your family has years in Tinybeans, the first job is not to decide whether you are leaving. It is to make a copy of the memories you care about. Tinybeans’ public pages do not promise one universal export path, so use the current in-app account/help options or contact its support team for your account, then test the resulting files before moving the lot.
Do not delete anything from Tinybeans while you are moving. Treat the first import as a second home for the files, then check a handful of old, new, and edited photos before making any cleanup decisions.
The practical route
Move photos from Tinybeans in four calm steps.
- 1. Use Tinybeans’ current export or download options to save a copy of the photos you want to bring with you. Ask its support team if you need help finding the current route.
- 2. Put a small, representative set in a new folder: one newborn photo, one older photo, and one picture shared by a relative if possible.
- 3. Look at the image information for each file and identify the capture date, not only the date you saved it.
- 4. Import that sample to Our Pear Tree. Once it looks right, import the rest in batches and keep the source copy until you are finished checking.
The date check
Do not let a transfer rewrite your history.
A date displayed in a journal and a date embedded in an image file can be different. We can use a capture date stored in the file, but we cannot safely turn a post date, save date, or filename into a claim about when the photo was taken. That is why a small test is worth doing.
Our Pear Tree reads an image’s embedded capture date when the file includes one, then places the photo on that day. If there is no usable capture date, the import labels the lower-confidence filename or file-date clue for review instead of treating it as a fact. You can correct the photo yourself before you rely on its place in the timeline.
A five-minute safety check
Before you import the whole archive.
- Make your own offline copy before changing or deleting anything in Tinybeans.
- Test photos from at least two different years.
- Check a photo posted by another family member separately, because it may have travelled through a different path.
- Write down any month whose pictures need manual dating, rather than assuming a missing date will repair itself later.

Can I move only one child’s photos?
Yes. Start with the files for one child or one period of life. A smaller first move makes it easier to check the result, and you can add another child or year later.
Will notes and comments move too?
This guide is for your photo files. Product export options differ, and Our Pear Tree does not claim to automatically carry another service’s posts, comments, or account structure across. Add the words that matter as notes in your new timeline.
What if the photos have no original dates?
They can still come in. We make the missing-date state clear so you can set the real day yourself, instead of trusting an invented date. See the exact import behaviour.
